From AsianWiki, Na Hee-Do is a member of her high school fencing team. Due to the South Korean financial crisis, the high school fencing team gets disbanded. Getting through all the difficulties, she becomes a member of the sabre fencing national team.

The South Korean financial crisis also causes Back Yi-Jin’s father’s business to go bankrupt. This leads to a life change for Back Yi-Jin, from living the life of a wealthy person to a poor person. While studying, he works part-time jobs like delivery newspapers. Later, he becomes a sports reporter for a broadcasting network.

The episode starts with present day, Min-chae talking to her grandmother while doing gardening. Min-chae attempts to bring up contents from Hee-Do’s diary especially about the wedding ring that Hee-Do allegedly thought her mother has sold off during IMF gold collection program. When she found out that her grandmother has kept it all these years, Min-chae sends a photo to Hee-Do with her hand wearing wedding rings. This riles up the adult Hee-Do when she finds out that it was not the case, making her feel bad about nothing after all these years.

Going back in the past, Hee-Do’s mother notices the broken peeing boy and decides to drop Hee-Do off on her first day at Tae Yang High School. Tired and jealous about all attention being given to her well-known broadcaster mother, she sneaks off for a toilet break. And in doing so, she eavesdrop in one of the conversation between a girl confessing her interest to a boy who shrugs her coldly, saying that he is interested in Yu-rim and aside from her, he only needs fans.

In her class, Hee-Do is being introduced and the class president Ji Seung-Wan is taken in charge of her for campus tour. They briefly have a short introduction to the building with art studio and science lab skimmed over since Hee-Do will barely be in class. And after understanding where the bathroom, infirmary and cafeteria are located, Hee-Do rushes off to the gym.

After short introduction between fencing team members, Hee-Do looks forward meeting Yu-rim who arrives late and apologizes. Coach Yang accepts her apology and therefore assigns a practice match between her and Hee-Do, if Hee-Do wins she can have her shoes back from Coach Yang. However, things get sour in the changing rooms when Yu-rim belittles Hee-Do, calls her an idiot and is just “nothing” to her. Hee-Do is hurt by Yu-rim’s words and is greatly disappointed by her real character.

Following this scene, Yi-jin gets a visit from his younger brother, Yi-hyun, who fought with bullies at school regarding their family’s bankruptcy. Yi-jin is worried and tells him that he will take Yi-hyun in once he has enough money, as for the meantime, he should listen to their Aunt. Afterwards, Yi-jun finds himself at Yu-rum’s snack shop and meets the doting owner who knows and is greatly worried about Yi-jun’s family after hearing the business bankruptcy in the news. At this point, Yi-jin says that his family could no longer sponsor Yu-rim and apologizes as their agreement can no longer continue.

In the evening, Yi-jin waits for Yu-rum hoping to get the change to apologize to her in person. Their conversation grows into an emotional one as there is a hint that the two have possibly had a history between them. Hee-Do sees the couple and runs off in a different direction. Yi-jin sees Hee-Do as she dash off and tries to catch up with her in the bus stop. Yi-jin and Hee-Do ride the same bus and get the opportunity to talk about a lot of things making their friendship stable ang getting stronger.

Finally the day of the fencing match between Hee-Do and Yu-rum arrives. They start off with Yu-rim but Hee-Do quickly picks up with her. In a flashback, the two have previously fought in a Junior fencing competition with Yu-rim losing the match. And in this tense match, Hee-Do wins again with a single point. A discussion lead by Coach Yang praises the winner and digs on the loser, pointing out on Yu-rin that the reason why she lost is because everyone know her moves, and the hardest opponent are the newcomers like Hee-Do.

In her office, Coach Yang congratulates Hee-Do for her win and infoming her not to belittle her achievements. She highlights that Hee-Do’s strength is her greatest strength so she should continue eating well. The fencing team is sent on an errand to the broadcasting club where Hee-Do discovers a tape that Yi-jin used to present a radio show back in 1994. Described as “fun, rich and handsome,” the change is very noticeable between then and his present state, emphasized by a cheery flashback that sees him an enthusiastic teenager full of energy and then a serious look at how the IMF crisis took tool on his family and life.

Hee-Do drops by Yi-jin’s place to settle her payment for the damaged Full House comic book when she inevitably overhears two restless men confronts Yi-jin about his family owning them money before the bankruptcy. Yi-jin is greatly shaken, feels sorry but could not do anything at all, aside from proposing that he could pay his father’s debt little by little over the years. One of the two men continue to pour his angry and heartbrokenness about his family’s financial status to Yi-jin who then promise to never be happy again, that he will spend his entire life thinking of the pain of others instead. After the two men left, Hee-Do and Yi-jin meet each other’s eyes. Hee-Do buys Yi-jin a drink at a local supermarket and Yi-jin opens up about their dreams.

After Yi-jin shares how much he wanted to turn back time, Hee-Do takes him to her school grounds and turns a water faucet upside down where they could just enjoy the sprinkling of water. Not enough for him, Yi-jin flips the entire row of faucet upside down letting all of the water spray upwards. The school guard tries to catch them but they were able to run away with holding hands. A happy Hee-Do tells Yi-jin that he can hang out with her, be happy and keep it a secret and makes a noticeably touching ripple in Yi-jin. He smiles in response.
