Emily in Paris Season 2: The Ending

With Savior’s French office going on a revolution by filing their resignations, Sylvie decides to open her own marketing firm together with all of French office staffs. She invites Emily as well to join her and leave Savior for good, meaning Emily’s stay at Paris could now be permanent, no longer just a year. Emily’s mind is all over the place after things unfolded unexpectedly. She talks to Mindy how she no longer recognizes herself. She says she used to plan her entire career and life back in Chicago but now she has been diving into unchartered waters that made her life chaotic, dramatic and complicated but at the same time incredible and beautiful. Mindy advises her that it is now time to make a decision to live her life – not just for the sake of experience of a year stay at Paris as what she had been doing.

Finally, after thinking thoroughly, she rushes to Gabriel’s place to tell him about her true feelings for him. Gabriel was about to tell her something but Emily interrupts him before she loses her nerve – that it was not because of Alfie that she says she could not be with him but because of – then trails off as she hears Camille’s voice. Emily takes a peak through Gabriel’s door and is surprised to see Camille there. Camille joins them and tells Emily that Gabriel has asked her to move in, which is an indication that they are getting back together. A stuttered and heartbroken Emily leaves them with a congratulations and heads off to a bridge.

With tears in her eyes and breathing heavily, Emily calls up Sylvie and tells her that she has made her decision. The decision, however, is a cliffhanger.

This cliffhanger ending of Emily in Paris Season 2 leaves the viewers what could have been Emily’s decision: staying in Paris or going back home in Chicago. And here are the potential ending if she choses either of the two options.

Emily in Paris Season 2: If Emily Cooper stays in Paris

Emily could move to a new apartment and meet a new “Gabriel” there, however, it could still be difficult for her to move on since she might still have to work together with Camille under her account Champere or bump into Gabriel and Camille casually along the streets since her new office or apartment may be still be within the vicinity.

But aside from her love problems, Emily staying in Paris does have have a lot of room for new experiences for Emily such as meeting new clientele, planning her new career and life at Paris and discovering new places with Mindy.

Emily in Paris Season 2: If Emily Cooper goes back home in Chicago

Emily could go back home in Chicago to live the life she left off before Paris, get promoted in Savior and stay in a relationship with Alfie whom she does not love as much as Gabriel. In other words, live a comfortable but potentially average life compared to her unchartered yet beautiful life in Paris which is not really a bad idea. She could marry or break up with Alfie and meet someone new, get a new work or travel abroad.

What We think Emily could have decided on

After two seasons of knowing Emily, we could probably get the idea that she would rather choose to go back home in Chicago. The reason is because she is still very much in love with Gabriel who has been a huge part of her Paris life and may be really difficult for her to get over him whenever something reminds her of him. In addition to that, her regret of playing it safe when she knew Gabriel wanted her so much as well that they really could have been together also adds up to the main reason.
